This was my first trip to Bali and I'd heard excellent things about the island and it's people. I've traveled extensively throughout the world and wasn't quite sure what to expect. After staying at Kanishka Villas though, I have to say "incredible". Everything was exceptional....from the staff, who were at all times accommodating, to the villa which was 5 star. If it weren't for all of the amazing things the island has to offer, I'm not sure I would have left the villa. I recommend this highly to anyone.

This was our first visit to Gending Kedis and the Kanishka Villas. We stayed for 5 nights in each location.
We were picked up after midnight by a smart resort mini-bus. Our plane had been delayed for 3 hours. What a relief to climb into the back of the cool mini-bus and be welcomed with a cold drink and a smile.
Our Gending Kedis (“Bird Song” in Balinese language) villa was very private, clean, cool and welcoming and not overlooked at all. In fact, I didn't want to leave it for the first two days except for a couple of trips to the Spa for a massage and we had our sumptuous meals delivered to the villa, pure luxury.
I loved my time there. I loved living at the top of the green forest canopy at Gending Kedis and breakfasting on Eggs Benedict in the treetop restaurant with the Balinese birdlife, vibrant and colourful. I loved doing my 'beached whale' impressions in the villa pool, private as pie. I loved how quiet it all was.
After our five days of deep-tissue relaxing at Gending Kedis we moved to a Kanishka Villa.
The Kanishka Villas are more 'in town' and are close to nightlife, restaurants and many other attractions. These generous 2-bedders are very chic. Each with a large plunge-pool and lounging and dining area. An on-site kitchen can provide every meal and meals delivered to the villa; each villa also has a fully kitted out kitchen. (They do Eggs Benedict there as well :)
These villas are all very new and top-quality with soft furnishings and all the mod-cons to match. The service at the villas is what you might expect in a 5 star hotel and I can't recommend them highly enough. A real holiday break. We will definitely be coming back.
In summary, just one sentence: When I got home I realised that my house needed a complete make-over!
Kanishka provided my partner and I with the most wonderful holiday. The beautifully designed villas were a world away from the stress and bustle of our daily lives and gave us a chance to rejuvenate. The open living areas invite instant relaxation with the outdoor area seamlessly merging with the interior. We were so taken with the environment that we were tempted to not venture beyond our front door. Especially because the food and service were fantastic. The villas are a short walk to Bali's fabulous shopping precinct and nightlife. The beach is also close by and so we went for lots of long walks at sunset. I would highly recommend Kanishka villas to anyone looking for a little bit of luxury in Bali.
I recently enjoyed Douglas Wallace's hospitality whilst visiting Bali, at his new Kanishka Villas.
Quite clearly I stayed at a 5 star, and Crown accommodation, that was very stylish and well appointed.
For the romantics of you out there, take some time and visit Kanishka in Seminyak. his two styles of accommodation. And take time to "smell the roses"
And then or as well visit the Romance of his other place near by the coast, Gending Kedis Villas at Jimbaran....Seek it out, I promise you it is all I say it is.

I’ve had an absolutely awesome getaway experience lately.
I like Bali and wanted to find a good place to relax, a quiet place was a must, but also close to good restaurants, supermarkets where I could get my daily supplies and I’m so lucky to have stayed at Kanishka, a brand new villa at Seminyak that comes with a private swimming pool, great bathtub, outdoor shower, 50” TV plasma (though it was not really in my schedule to watch TV), great stereo and the management also provides CDs which I had great use playing while I spent afternoons and mornings swimming, getting water-massage from the fountain in my private pool was my favourite time, or relaxing by the pool, reading. Perfect holiday for me!
The location is just a walking distance to Bali Deli, Periplus (book shop), Warung Made for dinners with great performances, two-line shops along Seminyak St. where I could find some souvenirs and not far from Bintang Supermarket, the bigger one with local price.
I chose the bedroom downstairs (design is superb !! soothing colours)as it is just next to my private swimming pool. The bedroom is furnished with the whole crisp bedding lines which are most comfortable I must say !!
The service was friendly, I had my own butler, you just make a call ordering your breakfast for the next morning, mention the time and you will get a private breakfast prepared in your dining room the next day.
The villa has a kitchen furnished with any kitchen stuff you need for your stay including any types of glassware you need for your own private cocktail time.
Not to mention the airy living room and dining room, great for your crowd of friends or a private dinner.
